The President’s Daughter has been kidnapped by the brilliant super-criminal Blood Mamba. All rescue attempts have been thwarted by the evil genius. There’s only one thing left to do: send in the Robot. The Robot must fight zombie-monsters and insecurity in order to complete his suicidal mission.

Robot Bastard! (2002) is a short film by Rob Schrab whose credits include Scud: The Disposable Assassin, Monster House, Heat Vision and Jack, Channel 101, The Sarah Silverman Program, Childrens Hospital, Community, and Parks and Recreation.

Imagine a badass cousin of Conky from Pee-wee’s Playhouse fighting the Putty Patrol from Power Rangers… IN SPACE. It has a great visual style and the action sequences are fun and creative. It’s only about 15 minutes so you should just watch it if you haven’t already.

Rob Schrab also does a live found footage show with Community’s Dan Harmon called Found Crap. I got to see this in person at Everything is Festival 2010 at the Cinefamily in LA. They showed some great stuff that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Definitely worth checking out if you have the opportunity.
