This mashup by Mr. Weebl imagines a version of the classic Sega beat ’em up game Streets of Rage starring Nicolas Cage. It includes a bunch of Nic Cage film references which are detailed below.

Nic Cage is attacked by several Captain Corelli’s with mandolins – Referencing the 2001 film, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. Las Vegas poster on the wall – referencing his 1995 film Leaving Las Vegas.

The theatre showings: Bangkok Dangerous (2008) and Deadfall (1993). A plane fly’s overhead, and Cameron Poe parachutes down holding a box with a rabbit – referencing the 1997 film Con Air. Nicolas Cage finds a snake under a bin, and then whips Cameron Poe with it, till he is defeated. The snake references the 1998 film, Snake Eyes.

Near the end of the level is a shop sign for Arizona Raisins INC – referencing the 1987 film Raising Arizona.

Nicolas Cage has to defeat a group of men who take off their masks, and then turn into John Travolta in Saturday Night fever – Referencing the 1997 film Face/Off, which John Travolta stars in. The sign for the dodgy club in the background is named Lord of Whores – referencing the 2005 film Lord of War.

These guys are Charlie Kaufman, and are holding type writers and orchids – referencing the 2002 film Adaptation.

In the background and foreground, lots of Peter Loew’s are walking around screaming “I’m a vampire! I’m a Vampire! I’m a Vampire!” – referencing the 1988 film, Vampire’s Kiss. Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider rides in and knocks Nicolas Cage to the ground – referencing the 2007 film Ghost Rider. Terence McDonagh rides in from the left on a giant iguana – referencing the 2009 film Bad Lieutenant.

The mega boss battle is a giant Edward Malus, wearing half a bear costume and a wire mesh helmet full of bees – referencing the 2006 film The Wicker Man. Hit Girl jumps down to save the day, and shoots the giant Edward Malus – referencing the 2010 film Kick Ass
