Interesting Sidenote: Splash Mountain was based on characters, stories, and songs from the controversial Disney film Song of the South (1946). The film has never been released in its entirety on home video in the United States because of the subject matter, which Disney executives thought might be viewed by some as politically incorrect and racist toward black people.
