MST3K Theme Song remix by Andy Lindsay

It’s a kind of 80s techno-pop, faintly chiptuney repurposing of MST3k’s theme song. I used the season 8 iteration of the theme, mainly because it was the first clean, stereo version I happened across after I got the idea.

I made this for no particular reason. The inspiration came from the other day when I had the basic bassline of this track in my head, just as an episode of Mst3k had started. The bassline in my head fit the theme song, so I made it.

I also had just found an old folder on my hard drive, with a bunch of soundfonts, so the track is heavy on soundfonts (for the orchestral bits, and some FX), and a few 3xOsc synths, and a Harmless do the synthy sounds. The drum sounds were sampled from Hall & Oates’ “I can’t go for that”.

Tokyo Wonderland is a planned graphic novel by President Nelson mashing up Lewis Carrol’s Alice in Wonderland with Japanese culture. For more info check out his kickstarter page.

Alice is having a very strange day. As a student residing in Tokyo, Japan, she’s plagued by odd dreams of Wonderland. On this day she’s bullied, teased, and embarrased by her classmates. But worse yet, it all happens in front of the boy every girl in school has a crush on. When her pet bunny’s safety is at risk Alice is left with no choice but to follow the white rabbit to the surreal & topsy-turvy world of Wonderland. It’s there that Alice must slay Dragons, best ninjas, confront Samurai, & kung fu with Deadly Demons. Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem is a feature-length Japanese-French animated musical film originally released on December 1, 2003. The film is the visual realization of Discovery, an album by Daft Punk. Each track from the album has been animated as an episode in the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band. The film was produced by Daft Punk, Cédric Hervet and Emmanuel de Buretel along with Toei Animation, under the supervision of Leiji Matsumoto. The film has no dialogue and minimal sound effects.
