Vicky Freeman from Fareham in Hampshire, England spotted this grey squirrel eating treats out of one of her Halloween decorations.

The 54-year-old grandmother said, “I always hang stuff up in my garden for the kids at Halloween but was surprised to see a squirrel so fascinated by the macabre skull it – looks really scary!”

Awesome Giant Scarecrow - pumpkinhead

Keep away from Pumpkinhead,
Unless you’re tired of living,
His enemies are mostly dead,
He’s mean and unforgiving,
Laugh at him and you’re undone,
But in some dreadful fashion,
Vengeance, he considers fun,
And plans it with a passion,
Time will not erase or blot,
A plot that he has brewing,
It’s when you think that he’s forgot,
He’ll conjure your undoing,
Bolted doors and windows barred,
Guard dogs prowling in the yard,
Won’t protect you in your bed,
Nothing will, from Pumpkinhead.

The Evil Dead is an American horror film franchise created by Sam Raimi. The films revolve around the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, a fictional Sumerian text which wreaks havoc upon a group of cabin inhabitants in a wooded area in Tennesee. The protagonist, Ashley J. “Ash” Williams, played by Bruce Campbell, is the only character left alive by the end of the series. The original series includes The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II (1987), and Army of Darkness (1992). The franchise has since expanded into other formats such as video games and comic books. A musical opened in Toronto in 2003 containing material from all three films, and a remake of the first film is currently in development and due for release in 2013.

Jidaigeki X-Men Team Roster by genesischant - Samurai Period-Drama

Alex Mitchell (genesischant) has taken the 1990s X-Men animated series line-up and reimagined them as Japanese samurai period drama characters.

Marvel’s X-Men are much more down-to-Earth characters compared to many superheroes. Contrasting with the larger-than-life figures of the Sengoku era, this time around I chose the relatively stable Edo Period in Japanese history, arguably the cultural high point in feudal Japan. Despite the lack of large-scale wars that marked the preceding years, social unrest was brewing that would eventually lead to the revolutionary changes of the Meiji era. Class stratification and government control was very strict, and those outside the bounds of society suffered prejudice and persecution. Against this political backdrop I set my X-men, outcasts from the mainstream, with powers and backstories that combine fanciful folklore, historical figures, and other culturally relevant stuff.
